You’ll pick three fighters to collaborate and improve their skills during battles. Simple controls, consisting of just two buttons for physical and magical attacks, make it easy to dive into the action. The grounded combat ensures every move counts, and if your opponent seems too strong, you can level up and upgrade your magic to turn the tables.

Multiplayer Options

Characters

Assemble your dream team by selecting from five unique fighters, each with their own distinct style:

Aster (Wanderer): A desert-dwelling vagabond wielding a gunblade for explosive close-range combat.

Eremia (Dragoon): An elf guard aiming to explore the world, utilizing defensive spear-fighting techniques with faster aerial attacks.

Caroline (Mage): A young mage on a quest to fulfill an ancient prophecy, offering varied spells ranging from healing to powerful beams.

William (Pirate): A reanimated skeleton skilled in martial arts, capable of sacrificing health for longer chains.

Daphne (Knight): A dryad encased in armor, boasting unmatched defense and relentless closing attacks.

Additionally, four guest characters are set to join the fray, adding more variety to your combat experience.

Game Mechanics

Molten Winds: Open Edition features streamlined controls with only two buttons for attacks, making it easy for players to jump into action without complex joystick motions. Manage your mana wisely to execute powerful magic attacks, and utilize your allies’ unique abilities to create openings in battle.

Level up by acquiring experience points during fights and increase your base stats. Unlock new passives and enhance your magical skills to gain an edge over your opponents. Each magical skill can be upgraded mid-fight, allowing you to adapt and vanquish your foes.

Development Details

Molten Winds: Open Edition was developed using Castagne, an open-source framework specifically designed for creating fighting games. The source code of this project will also be available as an example for developers, promoting the exploration and customization of the game further.
