Idle Brick Smasher (Phase 1 play test)
Description
About Idle Brick Smasher APK
Idle Brick Smasher is an innovative idle/incremental game, drawing inspiration from timeless classics like Breakout and Idle Brick Breaker. Players are challenged to smash bricks as swiftly as possible, offering both dynamic and passive gameplay experiences with procedurally generated levels.
Game Development Status
The game is currently in active development (Dec 2024), with Phase 1 (early game) now in testing. The primary objective of this phase is to smash bricks to level up, accumulate upgrade points, and enhance either the paddle or balls.
In the future, subsequent phases will introduce additional features and deepen the game’s complexity. Join our Discord server to share feedback and become part of the vibrant community.
How to Play
To navigate the game, use WASD or ARROW keys to control the paddle and the MOUSE to access menus and purchase upgrades. The game is designed to be engaging and responsive, ensuring seamless player interaction.
Key Game Features
New bricks spawn regularly, indicated by a progressive bar at the top moving from right to left. As new rows emerge, each row features increased brick health.
Upgrades and Progression
Earn upgrade points (UP) by advancing levels or smashing special bricks. These points can be utilized in the Upgrades menu at the bottom to enhance either the paddle or balls.
Balls continue to smash bricks passively, with new types unlocked at specific levels. Hitting a ball with your paddle grants Active Hits—a temporary boost indicated by a visible tail—which ceases once the hits are exhausted or when the ball reaches the screen’s bottom edge.
Paddle Controls and Abilities
The paddle actively contributes to brick smashing by controlling and boosting balls, as well as firing a weapon when fully charged. If left idle, it will automatically disable itself after a short interval.
Offline Progress and Save/Load Functions
At present, offline progress is not supported. The game saves automatically every few seconds, but without cloud saving, there’s a risk of losing your progress. Additionally, Itch.io’s versioning system uploads each update to a different path, potentially leading to lost saves. To avoid this, it’s essential to back up your progress regularly.
