Buoy is an extension to the built-in Android Battery Saver, designed to provide customizable settings for optimizing battery life. It allows users to specify custom behavior for the battery saver, including features like advertising low power mode to other apps, enabling Android’s data saver, and using the built-in dark mode. The app also includes toggles for launch boost, vibration, showing window and activity animations, and more. Additionally, Buoy enables “sticky” low power mode, which re-applies low power settings even when the device is plugged in and unplugged. The app requires the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission, which can be granted using ADB or root, though root is optional. Android 8.0+ is supported, with more features available on Android 10+.
