The goal of this development was to harness the Mega Drive’s capabilities, leveraging its graphics and processing power to create an arcade-style experience. By doing so, we aimed to bring the essence of the original game to a new platform, enhancing the visuals and gameplay.

Conception and Future Plans
This tech demo was created to test various concepts and fulfill a long-held dream of bringing a port of Batman Returns to the Mega Drive. Although we do not intend to finish the game, we are excited about the progress made and the insights gained. The demo aims to showcase that the Mega Drive is capable of handling beat-em-ups with technical and graphical quality, even if it falls short in some aspects.
Conclusion
While this demo lacks in certain areas, it excels in others, making it an excellent platform for exploring the power of the Mega Drive in Assembly Language. We look forward to applying the knowledge and techniques learned from this project in future endeavors.
